I'm often referred to as the "big house". The historical Moorings House is one of the oldest homes in Steinhatchee. Surrounded by live oaks and spanish moss to shade her front porch, the Moorings is the perfect spot for your family scalloping adventure on the Gulf. Groups of fishermen are welcome whether you are looking to fish the flats, the rocky creeks for trout, redfish or the Gulf for black bass. She proudly stands to overlook the river and her private dock is across the street for your use during your stay. Sleeps Max: 10

The Moorings is a 3BR/2BA house with a fully stocked kitchen. Handicapped Accessible Ramp in the back and shower in the house. Large living room area for gathering with family or friends. Warm and inviting screened-in porch that overlooks the Steinhatchee River and dock. Washer and Dryer. Sleeps: 7T, 1 Q, 1 Q Sleeper sofa

Grill provided on back porch.

Private Dock across the street with water and cleaning station.

SCALLOPING on the GULF

Summertime is the perfect time to bring the family to the Big Bend area of Florida on the Gulf of Mexico. Scalloping is one of the favorite things to do on the water. You can purchase a 1, 3 5, or 7-day fishing/scalloping license from one of our 4 local marinas or online. * Non-Florida resident scallopers under the age of 16 do NOT require a license nor do those over the age of 65.

Equipment needed: snorkel gear, dive flag, flippers, net
